I always had mini bikes and go karts when I was a kid and wanted my kids to have the same experience.
So I picked up a total of 3 mini bike projects for 115 dollars total and began to restore them to the best of my abilities, and on a tight budget. I will share their progress here.
The 50 dollar Alexander Reynolds roller from the Spring 2011 Mini Bike Swap Meet in Ann Arbor Michigan.
The 10 dollar Alexander Reynolds frame, forks/handlebars and one fender painted in white latex house paint. from the Spring 2011 Mini Bike Swap Meet in Ann Arbor Michigan. The wheels were another 20 dollars from another vendor.
And the 35 dollar roller complete with grips, throttle cable, chain seat, one plastic fender and working tire brake assembly from a local mini bike swap meet here in Livonia Michigan (I talked him down from 40 dollars...haha)It again has white latex house paint all over it. There must be alot of kids running around painting old mini bikes with brushes and house paint. I always used spray bombs when I was young.
I also have my child hood Go Kart, which too suffered a childhood repaint. This was my dads Kart and was purchased new in 1961, it is a Homelite Spitfire. It will be getting a full restoration which I will share here.
